TAKE CARE – of your new brows!
Before & After Care
Before Microblading / Shading
Prior to your appointment you should imagine the look that you wish to achieve. As your advanced technician in the field, we ensure that the correct color and shape are chosen for you, however, your input and opinions help us gain the insight to what your preferences are and will help when making the final decision.
Be prepared for the color intensity to be significantly sharper, darker, and larger after the procedure, and especially the following day. This WILL subside and your brows will become softer as the skin heals. This process can take up to 14 days, since delicate skin or sensitive areas may be red or slightly swollen.
Please do not take Aspirin or any form of blood thinners 72 hours prior to your appointment. If you are prescribed these medications by your physician it is advised that you obtain permission prior to stopping your medications. If you have a medical conflict please feel free to call and discuss before scheduling and we can review in more detail.
Do not discontinue any medications before consulting your physician.
Keep alcohol consumption to a minimum 24 hours prior to and after your appointment.
Botox should be given 3 weeks prior or 3 weeks after this procedure.
Do not use Retin-A or Retinols for 7days prior and avoid the skin that surrounds the brows for at least 14 days after, as this can cause pigments to fade prematurely.
No chemical peels 30 days before or 30 days after – the brows will peel more quickly due to the chemical traveling under the skin.
Do not workout the day of the procedure, and preferably for 5 days after if you are prone to sweating. Do not tan or spray tan or have a sunburn on your face.
No waxing or tinting 3 days prior to your procedure.
– Under 18 years of age
– Pregnant or Nursing
– Clients who have epilepsy, hemophilia, or heart disease of any kind must have approval from your physician in writing prior to your appointment.
– Accutane within the last year
– Undergoing Chemotherapy (consult your physician)
– Viral infection
– Skin parasites or Psoriasis near the treated area
– Had Botox within the last 3 weeks
If you have any medical issues that you feel might be a contraindication, we recommend consulting your physician.
After Microblading / Shading
What you can expect following your new brows!
Mild swelling, itching, light scabbing and possible bruising, these are all positive signs as it means the skin is healing and you are one step closer to your perfect brows.
Your brows WILL appear darker and bolder by approximately 30% the following day. This is due to the pigment taking up to 7 days to enter the deeper layers of the skin. After 7-10 days exfoliation will start to take place. The top layer of the skin will begin to peel, leaving a softer and lighter color below.
You may experience color change or color loss as the procedure heals. This will be addressed during your touch-up, which is why the touch-up appointment is extremely important. The procedure area needs to be completely healed before the touch-up, which usually take 6-8 weeks.
A touch-up may be needed 6 months to 1 year after the first touch-up procedure depending on your skin type, medications, sun exposure, and chemical used in your daily routine. We recommend your first touch-up 4-6 weeks after your initial procedure.
After your touch-up you will want to schedule every 6 months to 1 year for regular touch-ups to keep them looking beautiful.
Careful and diligent aftercare is essential to producing a beautiful and lasting result.
On the day of your procedure you will need to gently dap your eyebrows with a cotton round dipped in distilled water every hour. You then will apply a very thin layer of after care cream (you will receive this at your procedure).
Days 2 – 7 you will clean the brows with a damp cotton round and proceed to apply a very thin layer of the after cream 2-3 times daily.
Do not scrub, pic or rub the epithelial crust that forms. Allow it to flake off naturally, if you remove before it is ready, the pigment underneath y be pulled out.
Do not use any make-up on the brows for at least 14 days.
Do not expose the brows to the sun, tanning beds, or spray tans for 14 days.
Do not use Retin-A or Glycolic Acids in the brow area during or after healing.
Avoid swimming for 14 days .
After the area is completely healed, you may go back to your regular cleansing and makeup routine. Avoid rubbing the area and be sure to apply sunscreen to your brows daily to prevent fading.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN INFECTION, PIGMENT LOSS, OR DISCOLORATION.
